Low gradient cycle route south of New Alresford

Low gradient cycle routes from New Alresford

Whilst recovering from a cold before Christmas, I went out on some low gradient cycle rides, so as not to overstress myself.  Here are three:

20 miles around Kilmeston, on to Brockwood, then up to the Milburys and back down through Beauworth.

Important to do it that way round, the climb up to the Milburys from Beauworth a steep bit.  Only 893 ft of climb about 45 ft per mile.

34 miles to East Meon

Several flat stretches with short hills in between:

  • Alresford to Cheriton via Tichborne
  • Brockwood Bottom Road
  • West Meon to East Meon

50ft climb per mile.

16 miles to Winchester

Or you could just cycle to Winchester via the Itchens and Kings Worthy. A mere 23ft per mile including a climb up to the Winchester Tennis and Squash Club.
